Slazengers mens 2nd team continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 3-3 draw at home to Leeds Gryphons but in reality were lucky to get anything out of the game. Leeds came with a large squad and their extra legs paid off with Slazengers continually getting overrun in the midfield however some hard defending and good work kept Leeds out. Slaz were off to a flying start and pressured Leeds in every part of the pitch powering through and showing they meant business. The game got off to a high tempo with both sides pushing high up the pitch and creating early chances and testing the keepers. Slazengers old heads took the lead and created more chances but were unable to score. Bankers opened the scoring to take the lead, but slaz kept in contention. Slazengers mens second team travelled to Sheffield Hallam 5's on Saturday looking to record their first win of the new season and did so in style, coming away with a 7-3 victory. Slazengers were quick off the mark and took the lead inside a couple of minutes, Jake Barras with a reverse stick strike following good work from Robin Whawell.
