Slazenger Mens 3rd's traveled away to Leeds Adel Carnegie at the weekend, and were unfortunate to come away with a 2-1 loss. This result is a blow to the teams promotion hopes. Due to a rescheduling coincidence, Sunday saw the second match against Rotherham, this time on home ground. Unfortunately Rotherham supplied an umpire; a decision which would come back to haunt Slaz. Slaz went away to title chase rotherham, ready to secure vital points,but never really got going. The match was scrappy from the start, and a poor astroturf surface slowed the ball down. This worked against Slaz's quick passing game, and the ball became stuck in midfield. After a disappointing performance last week, Slazenger Hockey Men's 3rd team got back to winning ways with a hard fought victory against promotion seeking Grimsby. Slazenger 3rd's game against top of the table Sheffield Hallam got off to a flying start when Man of the Match, Ste Johnson scored within the first minute of the game.
