Due to a rescheduling coincidence, Sunday saw the second match against Rotherham, this time on home ground. Unfortunately Rotherham supplied an umpire; a decision which would come back to haunt Slaz.
The match started well, and Slaz made some great moves through the midfield. Unhindered by a poor pitch, Slaz put the pressure on and maintained it all throughout the opening stretch of the game. Slaz went close several times, with Ste Roberts, Isaac Fisher and Tom Whitaker going painfully close.
In the end the pressure paid off, with a cross from Alan Bates finding Robin Brearton who fired it into the top left corner in what must be contender for goal of the season.
Slaz maintained the pressure four the remainder of the game, and midway into the second half it looked as though Slaz had secured the victory. However, Rotherham broke away towards the goal, and after blatantly kicking the ball, defeated the keeper. The infringement was ignored by the umpire, who awarded the goal to the disbelief of the slazenger team.
