Slazenger Men’s 2nd Team travelled to Lincoln Roses 4s and came away with a well-fought draw. Slaz travelled without some key players but still produced a great team performance to earn their first point since Christmas. Slazenger Men’s 2nd Team had an away match against Leeds University 6th Team. It was a close match with only a mistake costing Slaz a draw. The home team started off the strongest but were not able to score against a tight Slaz defence. Slaz then pushed back creating chances of their own, but like the home team they were unable to score. Slazenger mens 2nds had a tough home encounter with Barnsley 1st's, though were unfortunately run out 4-0. The scoreline does not entirely reflect the game, as for large stretches of the match, Slaz looked to be in control of the game. A series of defensive slips in the first 20 minutes allowed Barnsley to capitalise and net 2. Slazenger Men’s 2nd Team hosted Doncaster 5s and were expecting a close match against the normally well drilled Doncaster outfit but it turned out to be a big win for Slaz beating the visitors 6-0. Slaz pilled the pressure early on in the game and were rewarded with a goal ten minutes in. Matt Green passed the ball down the left wing to Simon Randall who ran into the ‘D’ and slotted the ball passed the keeper at his near post. Slazenger Men’s 2nd Team travelled to Leeds Adel Carnegie and won 4-0. Although the final score looked impressive the match started out quite even and slaz didn’t score until the start of the second half. The first half did see slaz with most of the possession and creating most of the chances but slaz keeper Giles field did have make a couple of saves to keep the scores level, although the Adel keeper did have to make a lot more to keep his side level.
