The men's 1st team match was an ill tempered game. However, the game started well and didn't resemble the debacle that followed. Slaz were keen to carry on from their previous weeks high spirits and set out to take 3 points from Huddersfield. Slaz moved the ball around well from the back to the front but struggled to get into the Huddersfield D due to strong defending. City of York stood with Slaz around the circle to hold a minute silence for Bob France who will be missed by all. Slaz were unsettled to start and looked weaker than top of league side, but Slaz created spells of good play which kept city of York at bay for much of first half. But York got one through. Slaz arrived at Sheffield to a wet foggy pitch, both teams applied good pressure to get the ball back and when they had the ball moved it around well. Slaz got off to a great start moving the ball round and not showing any signs of weakness. Good early chances were created from Robin Brearton passing down the line to Dan Perry down the right cutting across the D.
