Slaz had a few key players missing, but gelled very well together, playing better hockey than they have for weeks against a team 2 divisions higher in the semi-final of the cup. It was close all the way through and there was never more than one goal in it. Slaz never gave up and had great fluid play with the ball. Slaz began with drive to break the loosing streak, and put early pressure on Ben Rhydding. Moving the ball well up the pitch down the left and right side. Slaz we blocked by a strong defence and even Richard Tuddenham couldn’t find a gap for a strong shot. The keeper covered the long short well. Slaz 1st travelled to Leeds to play Ramgarhia 1st team. Both teams set off with a clear intent to gain the upper hand, slaz swung the ball round the pitch meeting a packed out defence, whilst Ramgarhia locked their D tight with men and hit slaz on the break with few in numbers with aerial balls. Slaz started off with some good work rate but Normanby Park pilled on the pressure and pinned Slaz in their own half. Slaz failed to compose and Normanby Park fired one in.
