Frustrated Slazenger U14s started the new year in dominant form in terms of possession but were disappointed with their three-match results. Slazenger U10s Girls A ended the year on a high with a fantastic display of hockey in the final tournament of the year. A 1-1 draw with Ben Rhydding was followed by a superb 5-1 victory over Doncaster thanks to goals from Rebecca Jessop, Ellie Spruce and Lucy Kent. Bennett's hat-trick boost for Slazenger JAMES Bennett's trio of goals helped Slazenger U12s Boys to a respectable finish in a recent tournament in Leeds. Slazenger A had been promoted to pitch C to compete in the higher league and they got off to a flier with a single goal victory over Thirsk. A good second-half performance couldn't prevent Slazenger 3rd's from going down to a 3-1 defeat at home to Leeds 4th's. Excellent defending from Ashley Smith and some fine saves from Lee Secker kept rampant Leeds down to a three-goal lead at the break, but the switch to 4-5-1 at the interval paid off.
