Slaz were very happy to be re-united with the minibus for their trip to Driffield and hoped that they could soon erase last weeks' disaster from their minds with a convincing win. After last week's great result Slaz went into the game with high hopes. A strong Chapeltown side were made to defend hard for the first part of the game and the home team were very unlucky not to score in several 1 on 1 attempts. Slazenger went into the game with Halifax with three key squad members missing but were still hopeful that their last years' experience of playing in the league might count for something. Slaz started positively and strongly, so were somewhat shell-shocked when a breakaway by Halifax led to their first goal; completely against the run of play. Slazenger's first league outing this season was against the only team to beat them en-route to promotion last year so there was always going to be a score to settle. After the drama of the Dragon's game the day before it was natural that Slaz felt a little jaded for their trip to Hull.
