Report: 01-12-2012 – Mens 3rd’s (4) vs. (1) Kingston-upon Hull 4th’s

December 5, 2012 by Slazenger HC

After a minutes silence for former player and club steward Bob France, who died in the week, Slazengers started their match against Hull in good form, dominating possession in the middle of the park and using the full width of the pitch to stretch the opposition. After several promising breaks Slazengers won a penalty corner and Mark Kitchen was on hand to convert Jack Mumford's previous effort after the umpire had allowed play to continue after an earlier infringement. The away team … [Read more...] about Report: 01-12-2012 – Mens 3rd’s (4) vs. (1) Kingston-upon Hull 4th’s

October 16, 2012 by Slazenger HC

On Saturday 13th October a long drive to Hull eventually brought the reward of a match well played and won. Having Yorkshire’s biggest fair set up next to the pitch was never going to make things easy especially as the music and waltzers started halfway through the game, but a solid flowing performance from the Men’s fifth team saw a well earned victory against Hull. The back four of Steve Fealy, Matthew Smith, Danny Croxall and David Smyth held a solid line and moved the ball easily out of … [Read more...] about Report: 13-10-2012 – Mens 5th’s (3) vs. (0) Kingston Upon Hull 4th’s – “All the Fun of the Fair”

Slaz’s newly promoted side were missing a few team members against last seasons demoted side, and struggled to perform to the higher standard shown by Hull. Kingston applied heavy pressure and for 15 minutes Mark Swindon was the only player to cut through the tight net of Kingston. Slaz got their stride and began to move the ball round looking good in parts. But the pressure from Kingston showed and Slaz conceded 2 goals in the first half. Man of the Match Mark Swindon continued to … [Read more...] about Report: 22-09-2012 – Mens 1st’s (1) vs. (4) Kingston Upon Hull 2nd’s

March 30, 2012 by Slazenger HC

After the drama of the Dragon's game the day before it was natural that Slaz felt a little jaded for their trip to Hull. Glorious weather at the KC stadiumm they were greeted by a man in thick black jumper and woolly gloves who very rude to the Captain. He started to arise suspicion of the Slaz Goalie when seen arguing with a Tony Tiger mascot and loitering near the changing rooms, so she had him escorted from the premises! Report: 10-10-2009 – Mens 1st’s (0) vs. (5) Kingston Upon Hull 2nd’s

October 12, 2009 by Slazenger HC

Slazengers mens first eleven visited a very strong Hull second team on Saturday which consisted of a number of former national league players with hopes of causing an upset but were outclassed and out muscled by the opposition. It seemed as though the Slazengers players minds were fixed on the huge funfair at the side of the pitch rather than the game and they found themselves 4-0 down after barely 20 minutes. A change of formation and some strong words seemed to give Slazengers a bit of a … [Read more...] about Report: 10-10-2009 – Mens 1st’s (0) vs. (5) Kingston Upon Hull 2nd’s
