Slazenger played some good passing hockey and showed signs they were starting to gel as they competed in their third tournament of the season in Harrogate. Despite losing the opening game 3-0 against Rotherham, Slaz hit back with a battling 1-1 draw against Thirsk , thanks to a Jake Barras goal. Slazenger U10s Girls A ended the year on a high with a fantastic display of hockey in the final tournament of the year. A 1-1 draw with Ben Rhydding was followed by a superb 5-1 victory over Doncaster thanks to goals from Rebecca Jessop, Ellie Spruce and Lucy Kent. Bennett's hat-trick boost for Slazenger JAMES Bennett's trio of goals helped Slazenger U12s Boys to a respectable finish in a recent tournament in Leeds. Slazenger A had been promoted to pitch C to compete in the higher league and they got off to a flier with a single goal victory over Thirsk. Slazenger fielded a strong team for the third of six U10 boys tournaments at Huntington School, York. James Bennett opened the scoring in the first game with Chapeltown, Jenson Brook getting a touch and giving them a 2-0 victory. Slazenger U12s entered two teams in the Boys hockey tournament at the weekend - for the first time ever. Slazenger A impressed with three victories and two draws against strong opposition.
