Well, October is here and almost a month of the season has gone already! So here is a roundup of news and goings on at your club from the last month.... Halloween! As mentioned last month (and hopefully confirmed by captains and coaches...), the first social of the season is nearly upon us. 0-0 draw against Northallerton 2-0 win against Leeds 1-0 win against Halifax 3-0 loss against Ben Rhydding 2-0 loss against York The U12s girls had a productive day with a goalless draw against Northallerton, getting the ball high and creating pressure on it. A disappointing day for the Slazenger U16 Boys, which began with high hopes and some initial positive play. Due to Ben Rhydding not being able to raise a team, the boys were asked to play four matches on the trot at Pocklington, totalling 100 minutes hockey. A relatively young (Average age of 7!) and inexperienced Slazenger U10 boys team arrived at Pocklington full of energy and were rewarded with promotion. Slazengers 0-0 York B The boys started well and tried to get the ball into the oppositions half, but the play remained in the centre of mid field as they got used to playing together and the competiveness of tournament games.
