Slazenger U12s played in the latest tournament and produced some excellent performances. The programme was shortened to a four matches because of the school holidays. Slazenger held their first opponents Normandy Park B to a creditable 0-0 draw, given that the opposition had borrowed several players from their A team. Slazengers failed to turn lots of possession into goals when they took part in an U12 boys hockey tournament at Leeds on Sunday. Starting against York, newcomer James Bennertt quickly adapted to the pace of the game and caused problems in the opposing goalmouth, but it ended in a goalless draw. Slazenger gained three victories from their five matches in a Boys U12s hockey tournament at Leeds on Sunday. Despite having the majority of possession in the opening game against York B, Slazengers failed to cash in but Isaac Fisher cooly scored after excellent work by man of the tournament Jack Kitchen, who beat three defenders before putting in a telling pass, to win 1-0. PROGRESSIVE hockey ensured Slazenger Boys U12s' second tournament of the season proved a much more encouraging experience. Slazenger won their opening match against York B with Jack Kitchen sinking the only goal. The second game was a much tougher affair against a technically superior Chapeltown side.
