With New Year only just passed it was back to Hockey already. Refreshed from the break Slazengers ladies started with determination managing to score first from a short corner. Horsforth then equalised and so it continued with each side scoring but Slazengers never in a losing position. Slazenger were hopeful of a more equal playing field against their local rivals and it was soon apparent that the teams were more evenly matched. Slazenger ladies 4th team played a league game against Sheffield Hallam 5. Slaz were strong from the start and controlled the midfield well through excellent play by Hetty Walker. Slaz got off to a flying start and shifted the ball round well. Dan Perry made quick work of the left back and created lots of chances round the back, on several occasions the ball flying past the far post.
