Slazenger Mens 1st's started the 2014 season with a win over a very strong Lincoln side. The 1st goal came in the 10th minute with a well worked well set piece which Isaac fisher finished under pressure. After 2 promotions in 2 seasons, Slazengers Mens second team always knew they were going to be in for a tough season but in the end, will be disappointed to come away from their opening league fixture with nothing having gone down 3-2 away at York. Slazenger Mens 3rd's returned to League action in a new league for the third time in 3 seasons. With a place in division 4 and host of new players in the squad, the team were looking to start the season on the front foot. The game started well, though the team appeared rusty, with several passes going astray. As the team got into the game, the flow improved and Slazenger controlled much of the passing. Opened up game play extremely strong providing Huddersfield Dragons a difficult challenge. Shots on goal were unfortunately saved - with some hitting the post causing frustration. Pressing forward Dragons were able to score twice before Slazengers eventually connected with the back board after a fantastic strike at a difficult angle from Helen Hough.
