In a very close mid table battle Slazengers were tenacious pinning down the Rotherham side and reducing their opportunities. Slazengers visited Wakefield at College Grove on Sunday. With a change in line up from recent weeks, Slazengers gave Claire Dunstan a run out who managed to score the opening goal for Slazengers building their confidence which led to another goal shortly afterwards. After only playing one game in 3 weeks and having no training Slazengers started slowly allowing Pudsey to get a 2-0 lead in the first 20 minutes, one of the goals being scored after a penalty flick was given after the ball was stopped on the line with a foot. Slazengers mens 4th team faced up against Wakefield and hoped to record a double over their local rivals after a 3-1 win earlier in the season. Slazengers started strong and pounced first after centre forward John Sykes rushed through Wakefield’s defence and after an attempt the first goal came to Harry Gunning at the back post. Doncaster visited Slazengers development team which saw Slazengers well organised and moving the ball well. Before long Slazengers had a short corner for Matty chilton to strike from again.
