Slazenger Boys U16's got their season off to a good start with four points from their opening three match. A hard-fought draw in the first match against Normanby Park was followed wih an excellent 3-1 win over City of York, goals coming from skipper James Swinden (2) and Robert Stephens. Slazenger fifths edged a competitive away fixture over Acomb fourth string. Patrick Rivers goal five minutes from time after Haydn Foster had beaten the entire Acomb defence with some outstanding stick skill clinched it for the visitors. Slazenger seconds struggled to get into their stride against hosts Sheffield fourths. And as a result, they trailed 2-0 at half time and slumped to a heavy 5-0 defeat.
