SLAZENGER Boys U16;s continued to make good progress in the Yorkshire Youth League at the weekend. A tough first match against top side Rotherham ended 2-0 in the South Yorkshire side's favour, but the goals came late and Neil Hutchins and Eddie Richardson spearheaded an outstanding Slazenger defensive display. In a highly entertaining match between two evenly matched sides - Slazenger thirds and visitors City of York fifths a 1-1 draw was probably the fairest result. Slazenger moved the ball round nicely in the first half against York and had the best chance of the game, but failed to make it count. Slazenger Ladies 2nd's expected a hard game against York St John's and the opposition did not disappoint in an enthralling 2-2 drawn encounter.
