Slaz Ladies 1sts travelled all the way to Alnwick in their first game against the North East team. As a team which had finished high in the league last season, the Horbury side knew they would be playing a tough match, but came out of it with the first win of the season. Slazenger 3rd's went into their confrontation with Garforth 1st's looking for a win, though could only manage a draw. The game started briskley with some fast flowing hockey. Wingers Luke Gueli and Man of the match Robin Brearton worked tirelessly to move the ball down the wings, opening the pitch and allowing midfielders to feed the strikers. After a disappointing match last week Slazenger men’s 2nd team got back to winning ways with a difficult home match to Lincoln Roses 3s beating them 5-3. Slazengers continued in the same good form that they showed in their previous game, against this week's opponents Barnsley.
