Slazenger Boys U14’s put in a series of creditable performances in their first outing of the season. They lost by narrow margins to Bradford and Rotherham but managed a good 1-1 draw with Huddersfield. George Sutcliffe, Richard Hutchins and Robin Ratcliffe stood out for Slazenger.

Freezing temperatures and driving rain added extra tension to a tight game between Slazenger Fifths and Bradford fourths. It ended all square at 3-3. Richard Baker and Haydn Foster (2) were on target for Slazenger. Lee Goddard was given a full debut and came through extremely well.
