Slazenger were not looking forward to their first League outing against last season's runners up given a severely depleted squad due to illness, holidays and other commitments. Slazengers last pre-season friendly against Bingley Bees, proved to be ideal preparation before the start of their league fixtures next week. The opposition were a young, skilful side, who despite going a couple of goals behind within the first 20 mins, scored by Aidan Hopkinson and Dan Levitt, were not easily deterred and gave the home side lots of problems to think about. Wrap-up of New Pitch Opening
2013 saw the replacement of the ageing sand based pitch with a state-of-the-art sand dressed synthetic turf pitch. This will update the pitch to the highest quality, providing a fantastic new playing surface and bringing the facilities up to date.
