Slazengers faced a tough task against a fast, skillful Leeds University side for their latest division 5 fixture. They knew they would have to play with lots of energy and great determination. Well what can be said about the start to the season for slazengers ladies second team? A 2-1 win against pocklington, a 6-0 win against canalside terriers brought us to a double header weekend. Dan Does the Double On another bright sunny September Saturday Slazenger’s development team travelled to Harrogate, with a warning that the week pervious the same team had destroyed Airedale 13 - 0. Slazenger continued their great start to the season with their first home victory helped by the return of 5 key players. This time Slaz started strongly and after 14 minutes hard work were rewarded by their first goal as Katie Browne calmly slotted the ball through the legs of the Doncaster keeper. Slazengers mens 2nd team kicked off their league campaign with a 1-1 draw at home to Leeds 5th's but in reality will be disappointed not to take all three points. Due to a variety of reasons, Slazengers were without a number of regular players but started the game at a fast tempo and were immediately on top of the opposition going close on a number of occasions.
