The second game of the weekend was a cup game against Bingley Bees second team. With people stuck at work we ended up with a bare 11 players up against a 15 woman squad. Slazengers got stuck straight into the challenge and at half time it was 6-0. Slaz ladies 3s played their first league game of the season, and although they were convincingly beaten by the better team, the score wasn't a fair reflection of the game played. The ladies were short of 4 of their regular squad but youngsters Josie Hughes, Alice Gascoigne and Robyn Campbell stepped up from the 4's to assist and didn't look out of place. Slazenger travelled across to Hull expecting a challenging game against top of the table Hull and a challenging game was what they got. The game got off to a high tempo with both sides pushing high up the pitch and creating early chances and testing the keepers. Slazengers old heads took the lead and created more chances but were unable to score. Bankers opened the scoring to take the lead, but slaz kept in contention. Slazengers mens second team travelled to Sheffield Hallam 5's on Saturday looking to record their first win of the new season and did so in style, coming away with a 7-3 victory. Slazengers were quick off the mark and took the lead inside a couple of minutes, Jake Barras with a reverse stick strike following good work from Robin Whawell.
