Slazenger seconds produced a fine display to see off Rotherham thirds.
But the Horbury club were still left dissapointed by the fact that this was only a friendly as they could certainly have used the three league points they would have won.
Slazenger started brightly and were creating early chances, the first of which was scrambled in by James Walker. Rotherham did however, pull level thanks to a subtle touch by Paul Johnson but this only served to spur Slazengers on to do better things.
They took the lead again just before the half when Ben Wells hit a great second, with Rich Hutchins claiming Slazengers third just after half time with a fierce strike from the top of the D.
All the pressure was now on Rotherham goal, Matt Birkett claiming his first of the season before Hutchins grabbed his second.
Hutchins was looking like he could score all night, claiming his hat trick thanks to a great assist by Kelly.
The Horbury club will look to build on the performance in their upcoming league fixtures and will enter Saturdays game with a much needed boost of confidence
