Slazenger’s scintillating six-goal second-half show steered them to a comprehensive victory over visiting Ben Rhydding.
The hosts were made to work hard in the first half by experienced and well-organised opposition but took the lead after 15 minutes through man of the match Gavin Kaye.
The visitors soon had a chance to equalise but their penalty stroke was expertly saved by Slazenger ‘keeper Tom Penistone.
Their pressure did pay off, however, and they equalised before half-time. But after the break it was all Slazenger.
They turned their possession into goals and romped to victory with strikes from Laurence Thornton (2), David Kaye (2), Andy Foreman and Jonny White.
