Slazengers held out on strong form towards the start of the game with a formation change. Plenty of opportunity saw the crowd cheering for the home side but unfortunately left the score at 2-0. Slazengers mens 2nd team had a double header last weekend, entertaining Sheffield Hallams Mens 5's on Saturday before travelling to York University mens 2's on Sunday. Saturdays game saw Slazengers go down 5-2 to an excellent Sheffield Hallam side. Hallam started brightly and immediately put Slazengers under pressure, playing a high press which Slazengers struggled to bypass. A very determined and disciplined team performance saw Slazengers Development team beat a skilful and well organised Sheffield Hallam Development team. Great teamwork was evident throughout and saw Sam Haigh and Josh Swallow score the two goals after good Slazenger build up play. After only playing the university of Leeds 2 weeks ago and losing 5-2 we were in for a tough game. Slazengers started well with plenty of chances and the majority of play. No goals had come by half time. After half time Slazengers came back even stronger and managed to get 2 goals in quick succession. The university of Leeds never recovered from those goals and defended until the end in order to stop Slazengers scoring more. Final score 2-0 to Slazengers.
