Slazenger Ladies went seven-up against Bingley in their Yorkshire Cup clash triumphing 7-1. They enjoyed a devastating first ten minutes, taking a 3-0 lead, courtesy of Lindsay Harvey, Julie Bear and Sue Swinden. A defensive lapese let in Bingley for a goal after the break, but Slazenger soon upped the pace with further goals added before the final whistle by Lisa Dransfield, Becky Stafford, Caroline Wakenshaw and Harvey. Slazenger fifths travelled to Halifax without three key players and with only ten men. And by half time, they were three goals down. Slazenger made a better fight of ti in the second period and grabbed three scores of their own, but the opposition replied with another three goals to seal a 6-3 victory. An Ian Wiper hat trick helped Slazenger fourths enjoy a 6-4 win at Ben Rhydding. They enjoyed a perfect start with a brace of goals from Dave Smyth, although the hosts soon pulled one back.
