Slazenger 4ths enjoyed a convincing 5-0 victory in their first league clash of the season against Normanby Park. Slaz dominated the usually strong Normanby outfit, with Ian Gordon putting them in front. Slazenger 3rd's warmed up for this week's league programme start with a convincing 7-1 thrashing of Huddersfield 5th's. Andy Auty raced to a hat-trick with some lively forward play, while youngster Gavin Kaye and Richard whawell added two more with some delicate finishing. Report: 30-09-2000 – Mens 2nd’s (4) vs. (3) Lincoln

Slazenger 2nds did something they didn't do for most of last season - start playing from the first whistle - as they overcame Lincoln 4-3. Midway through the first half, Slaz were cruising at 3-0 up, courtesy of striked from Swinden (2) and Tuddenham, only for Lincoln to pull one back. Performance of the day was from Slazenger 4th's, who made a tremendous start to the season with a 6-1 in over their Leeds rivals. Just minutes into the game, John Sykes opened the scoring with a penalty flick - and Slazenger continued to punish Leeds and were 3-0 up at the interval. Slazenger 3rd's were well and truly outclassed against a very strong Leeds 3rd's outfit, who triumphed 9-0. Early exchanges were very even, with Andy Auty coming close for Slazenger on a number of occasions.
