Slazenger men's first XI went top of the Yorkshire League Division 1 table with two wins at the weekend. On Saturday, the side overcame tricky conditions to defeat hosts Hull 2-0. Mark Butel slotted home with a reverse stick strike from a tight angle to give Slazenger an early cushion. Slazengers 2nd's had to dig deep for three points in their 3-2 win over Sheffield University Bankers. Things started brightly for Slazenger when Ben Graham converted a Jonny White cross to give them an early lead. Sheffield then began to settle and midway through the half they drew level. Slazenger boy U16's continued to make good progress in the Yorkshire Youth League at the weekend. A tough first match against top side Rotherham ended 2-0 in the South Yorkshire side's favour, but the goals came too late to respond.
