Slazenger kicked off an outstanding ‘double’ weekend with a Yorkshire League 1 triumph over top-of-the-table rivals Ramgarhia.
The Horbury side was slow to start, but defended well to deny their hosts an early goal, then broke out on the 16 minute mark for Butel to open the scoring with a superb solo effort.
Five minutes from half-time however, Ramgarhia equlaised from a short corner.
An unstoppable shot gave Ramgarhia the lead early in the second half but Slazenger’s heads didn’t go down and determined to put six points between the sides, the visitors rallied.
Gilston leveled from a short corner and in the last ten minutes, a sweeping ball landed at Butel’s feet and the hot shot made no mistake.
Slazenger then shut up shop and posted five players at the back to deny their hosts a second equaliser.
