Slazenger kicked off an outstanding 'double' weekend with a Yorkshire League 1 triumph over top-of-the-table rivals Ramgarhia. The Horbury side was slow to start, but defended well to deny their hosts an early goal, then broke out on the 16 minute mark for Butel to open the scoring with a superb solo effort. Slazenger Vets edged a close contest with Adel 2-1 in a high-speed encounter. Adel opened the scoring off a short corner, but Slazenger then matched Adel play-for-play. George hutchins pulled off an excellent save to keep Slazenger in contention, then sustained pressure either side of half-time led to an equalising goal for Graham Parker.
