Slazenger seconds took charge in this game from the fifth minute when Asad Baig finished off a well-worked move with the opening goal. Midway through the half Richard Whawell doubled the tally after terrific work by Foster in midfield. Slazenger then made it hard for themselves by conceding a goal against the run of play with a minute of the break. Report: 08-09-2001 – Mens 1st’s (7) vs. (2) Harrogate 2nd’s

Slazenger overcame a sluggish start and an early goal set-back to defeat Harrogate's second string comprehensively. Foundations for the victory were laid by the strong mid field work of Dave Kaye and Keith Whittle. Whittle scored first from a short corner to equalise, Slazenger seemed in control but Harrogate hit back before half-time to trail just 3-2.
