After their close defeat away to Hull University before christmas, the team were looking for a big win to put their promotion efforts back on track. with the squad back to full strength, this was duly delivered with a 10-0 victory over the visitors. Slazenger 4's lost their previous encounter against Barnsley so it was very encouraging that Slazengers started this match with a high tempo and built penetrating attacks from the start. Having battered Newcastle Ladies 10-0 away, Slaz were hoping for similar success in their first year in the Northern League Div 2 (east). Saturday's game was a very important fixture as it was between the top two teams in Division 4: Horsforth 1 at top of the table and Slazenger 2s in 2nd, with this in mind Slazengers was determined to play hard.
