Slazenger U10s Girls A made a good start to their season with two wins from five in the first tournament of the new campaign. The team got off to a bright start as Elvie Johnstone scored the winning goal in the 1-0 victory over Ben Rhydding in the opening match. Slazenger U10s Boys played their last tournament of the season at Huntingdon and despite some disappointing results, they showed great progress. With no chance of silverware this season, Slazenger gave boys who will still be young enough to play next season a run out. A strong Slazenger U10 Boys line-up blitzed all-comers to claim a morale-boosting quartet of wins in the latest Yorkshire Youth Hockey League series of tournament fixtures at York’s Huntington School. Hero of the hour was player-of-the-tournament Jenson Brook, who plundered a superb nine goals in a virtuoso showing. Report: 26-02-2006 – Girls U10 Tournament
Slazenger U10 girls had mixed results in the fifth tournament of the season but opened with some great hockey against LA Carnegie. Rebecca Jessop opened the scoring followed by Lucy Kent with Ellie Spruce nearly making it three. The next game was a much closer contest against Harrogate who took a one goal lead and managed to keep Slazenger out. Report: 12-02-2006 – Boys U12 Tournament
Slazenger U12s played in the latest tournament and produced some excellent performances. The programme was shortened to a four matches because of the school holidays. Slazenger held their first opponents Normandy Park B to a creditable 0-0 draw, given that the opposition had borrowed several players from their A team.
