Sunshine, Smiles, Sticks and Goals were the order of the day for the last tournament of the season with Slazengers fielding almost a full compliment of all thier U10 boys with just Will Fealy having to pull out due to illness at the last minute. Report: 10-03-2012 – Mens 1st’s (1) vs. (1) Leeds 3rd’s
This was Slaz’s biggest game of the season, and Slaz were ready for it. Leeds are a well drilled side and with a win could have a good chance for promotion. Slaz got the toss and started with possession. They whizzed the ball round the pitch keeping it away from the Leeds press for 5 min, which was lovely to see compared to Slaz’s usual starting 10 min. Slazenger 3's went into the weekends match, anticipating a tough encounter and knowing that a win would be a boon to their promotion capaign; The previous (away) leg had resulted in a goalless draw. Slazengers 4's faced top of the table Bradford on Saturday and performed very well in their last home league fixture of the season. Bradford were a well drilled side with a good mixture of youth and a couple of experienced first teamers that ensured Slazenger 4's had to play with a good tempo and make use of the wings if they were to compete. Slazenger's ladies 3rd team suffered a narrow defeat to near top of the table City of York 4. Slazenger's piled the pressure on with numerous attempts on goal but this proved futile. The strong defences were broken down and city of York scored but slaz kept there heads up and pushed forward.
