The first team notched up yet another win in their inaugual season in North Eastern Division 2. The Horbury side now lies in third place after holding off a late surge from Gateshead. Slazenger started slowly but they took the lead after man of the match James Swinden and Keith Whittle combined to set up Simon Chamberlain who cunningly pushed the ball past the keeper. A weakened Slazenger fourths string travelled to York in fine sporits and were rewarded by a 2-2 draw. Mark Swinden scored twice before half-time to put Slazenger in a surprise, but commanding lead.
