Slazenger 3rd's went into their confrontation with Garforth 1st's looking for a win, though could only manage a draw. The game started briskley with some fast flowing hockey. Wingers Luke Gueli and Man of the match Robin Brearton worked tirelessly to move the ball down the wings, opening the pitch and allowing midfielders to feed the strikers. After a disappointing match last week Slazenger men’s 2nd team got back to winning ways with a difficult home match to Lincoln Roses 3s beating them 5-3. Slaz started off second best and were soon behind after 5 minutes from a quick attack from Lincoln. Slazengers continued in the same good form that they showed in their previous game, against this week's opponents Barnsley. Again making good use of the flanks the Horbury side enjoyed the majority of the possession and created 5 good goal scoring chances within the first 25 minutes. A relatively young (Average age of 7!) and inexperienced Slazenger U10 boys team arrived at Pocklington full of energy and were rewarded with promotion.
