Primary School Tournament Success!
HORBURY St Peter's pupils battled it out to win the annual Slazengers Primary School Hockey Tournament for the second consecutive year. They managed to claim victory in a close game against Netherton J&I School.Over 80 pupils took part including children from Horbury Primary School, West Bretton Junior and Infants plus three teams from South Leeds. Slazenger Mens 2nd's promotion hopes took a battering when they lost 6-4 at home to Airedale. The home side came back from a goal down to take the lead with goals from Ben Graham and Tim Carr but Airedale leveled the scores just before half-time. Slazenger pushed forward after the break but were twice cought on the break as the visitors went 4-3 up. Carr scored his second of the match, but Airedale soon restored their two-goal lead.
