65 years ago this year, Slazenger's Sports Club was opened. To celebrate the start of the season, we are running a "Sportathon"; a 12 hour hockey game, on Saturday 12th September with celebrations after, all raising money for Cancer Research. A lot of our Members have been affected one way or another by this terrible disease and this is our opportunity to help beat it, with an aim of raising £15,000. Slazenger 65th Anniversary “Sportathon” Update
Sportathon Update Meeting 19th May The local fundraising manager from Cancer Research – a young lady called Lynne attended the meeting. She is very keen to help in any way that she can. Progress from the last meeting Kelly has spoken to “Soul Divine” who will definitely play for free and we would like to go ahead with their offer. No progress with food yet – Geoff suggested pie and peas and will approach Charlesworths.
