Top of the table Kingston upon Hull mens first team travelled to Slazengers expecting a walk over and although Slazengers lost out 5-1, the game was much closer than the final scoreline suggests.As you would expect, Hull started strongly and with a number of ex-national league players, they controlled possession and territory but with no end product. Slazengers mens first team came away from Leeds University Mens thirds on the wrong end of a 4-0 scoreline. However in a game where Leeds had no short corners compared to Slazengers who had close to double figures, the final score certainly didn't reflect the balance of the game. Leeds enjoyed good spells of possession with Slazengers happy to play on the counter attack and should have taken the lead when Jack Mumford went through only for the Leeds keeper to make a good save. Report: 23-01-2010 – Mens 1st’s (4) vs (1) Brigg 2nd’s

Slazengers mens first team were back in action against fellow strugglers Brigg seconds after a 6 week layoff and came away with a much needed 4-1 victory.After such a long break, the game was always going to be scrappy and the first half found both teams struggling to keep possession.
