Slazenger 3rd's went into their confrontation with Garforth 1st's looking for a win, though could only manage a draw. The game started briskley with some fast flowing hockey. After a disappointing match last week Slazenger men’s 2nd team got back to winning ways with a difficult home match to Lincoln Roses 3s beating them 5-3. Slazengers continued in the same good form that they showed in their previous game, against this week's opponents Barnsley. Again making good use of the flanks the Horbury side enjoyed the majority of the possession and created 5 good goal scoring chances within the first 25 minutes. Slazenger 3rd's took a break from the regular league matches to open their account in the Yorkshire Mens "E" Cup. Slaz was looking for a good start after a stuttering beginning to the season, racing out at the start and instantly putting Harrogate under pressure. Slazenger men’s 2nd team travelled to Leeds 5th looking to follow up last weeks result with another win, but were beaten 4-2. The score line was not a fair reflection of how close the match was. From the start it was end-to-end hockey with both teams creating chances but Leeds took the lead through a well-worked team goal. It was not long however before slaz equalised.
