Slazenger mens first team got back to winning ways on Saturday, with a conclusive 7-3 win over Thirsk 1st's Slaz had a good start and moved the ball round well. Slaz had a few key players missing, but gelled very well together, playing better hockey than they have for weeks against a team 2 divisions higher in the semi-final of the cup. It was close all the way through and there was never more than one goal in it. Slaz never gave up and had great fluid play with the ball. Slazenger 3rds got their first league win on the board in emphatic fashion, with a 8-0 win over local rivals Rotherham 4th's. In recent games, Slaz seemed able to create many chances, without the ability to convert them to goals. This was rectified this weekend. Slazenger's 4's endured a tough, gruelling encounter with Rotherham 5's in their latest development league fixture. Both sides were evenly matched and despite playing some good passing hockey in the first 10 minutes it was the away side who dominated most of the first half. Slaz began with drive to break the loosing streak, and put early pressure on Ben Rhydding. Moving the ball well up the pitch down the left and right side.
