Slaz mens 3's had two league games this weekend. The first of these was against Hull University, where the team were unlucky to come away with a loss. The team pressed from the off, with some fast passing putting the team well inside the teams half within seconds. Unfortunately the team were unable to convert. This perhaps epitomised the performance after a long journey and late 4pm start. Hull were a quick and skillfull side, who's passing was able to cut through the Slaz midfield, and at … [Read more...] about Report: 26-11-2011 – Mens 3rd’s (1) vs. (2) Hull Uni 3rd’s

Report: 26-11-2011 – Mens 4th’s (Dev) (0) vs. (0) Doncaster
Slazenger's acquitted themselves well in this top of the table clash against high flying Doncaster. Both sides were disciplined, contained some skillful players and managed to keep their shape, working hard in both attack and defence. Slazenger's enjoyed the best goalscoring opportunities in both halves, with striker Peter Gunning coming close midway in the first half with a lovely deflected effort that was brilliantly saved by a Doncaster keeper who made several telling saves throughout the … [Read more...] about Report: 26-11-2011 – Mens 4th’s (Dev) (0) vs. (0) Doncaster
Report: 19-11-2011 – Mens 4’s Dev. (1) vs (0) York 10’s
It must have been the early start that was the reason for Slazenger's starting sluggishly against York in their latest development league fixture. Despite dominating possession the team never converted this dominance into goals. York were a young, well organised team with a pair of good central defenders who Slazengers struggled to get past. The first … [Read more...] about Report: 19-11-2011 – Mens 4’s Dev. (1) vs (0) York 10’s
Report: 19-11-2011 – Mens 3rd’s (1) vs. (4) Chapeltown 4th’s
Slazenger mens 3rd's suffered a 4-1 defeat on Sunday at the hands of Chapeltown 4th's. The team fought hard, but struggled to repeat the flowing form which had created such high scoring victories of earlier rounds of the cup. However, they were unable to progress past the semi-final stage. Slaz never seemed to fully get going in the game, though contested well in the first half. Chapeltown struggled to find a hole, with the back line of Mark Kitchen, Alan Perry, and Nathan Crowther keeping … [Read more...] about Report: 19-11-2011 – Mens 3rd’s (1) vs. (4) Chapeltown 4th’s
Report: 19-11-2011 – Mens 2nd’s (3) vs. (2) Lincoln Roses 4th’s
Slazenger Men’s 2nd Team won at home 3-2 against a ten man Lincoln Roses 4th team. With Slaz beating Lincoln Roses 3rd team convincingly earlier in the season this looked like it was going to be an easy match for slaz, but it was quite the opposite. Lincoln seemed to be up for the match, Slaz looked sluggish and it showed from the start with Lincoln scoring. Slazenger keeper Giles Field saved the shot but with the sun in his eyes he didn’t see the ball fall and it trickled over the line. This … [Read more...] about Report: 19-11-2011 – Mens 2nd’s (3) vs. (2) Lincoln Roses 4th’s
