Slazengers mens 2nd team kicked off their league campaign with a 1-1 draw at home to Leeds 5th's but in reality will be disappointed not to take all three points. Due to a variety of reasons, Slazengers were without a number of regular players but started the game at a fast tempo and were immediately on top of the opposition going close on a number of occasions. Slazenger Mens 3's first league fixture of the season was a sobering experience away against a skilful and energetic Brigg team. The Horbury team had shown good form during pre-season and had strong expectations for a decent performance. Slazenger were not looking forward to their first League outing against last season's runners up given a severely depleted squad due to illness, holidays and other commitments.
