A very determined and disciplined team performance saw Slazengers Development team beat a skilful and well organised Sheffield Hallam Development team. The home team started strongly with some strong play and possession which lead to 2 goals from Richard Tuddenham and Phil Midgley. Grimsby fought back into the game and pulled a goal back before half time. Grimsby came in to the 2nd half strongly and scored another goal to make it a tight finish. Slazengers mens 2nd team travelled to Scarborough on Saturday and came away with a deserved 3-0 win. The game was summed up by Slazengers keeper Tom Murray who made the 160 mile round trip to not touch the ball once during the game. Slazengers 1st's travelled away to Airedale and after a strong start were unfortunate to lose 3-2. The visitors started well, with good attacking intent, but were caught on the break, going 3 goals down. Slazengers fought their way back into the game, scoring 2 goals in quick succession from Isaac fisher and Richard Tuddenham.
