Slazenger Thirds also got their season off to a flier following a 3-1 success over visiting Chapeltown Seconds. The hosts dominated the game throughout but were held in a goalless first half. Slazenger Thirds were well-beaten by Yorkshire League 6 hosts Bradford University Seconds, 5-1. The quicker, more skilful students raced into a 3-0 half-time lead that could have been more but for the determined efforst of goalkeeper Jonny Walker.
