Slazenger 2nd's progressed to the next round of the Yorkshire League B Cup with a deserved 6-4 win at Leeds Adel Carnegie 4ths. James Walker gave Slazenger the lead midway through the first half while Ben Graham was thwarted several times by the LA keeper. It was end to end stuff in the second half. Ben Graham and Tim Carr bagged a hat-trick apiece as Slazenger made it two wins in two weeks with a convincing 6-1 win at Normanby Park. The visitors got off to a slow start and sloppy defending allowed Park to take the lead but Tim Carr's fifth goal in two games put Slazenger on level terms at the break. Slazenger 2nds gained them their first win of the season - a 7-5 success at derby foes Wakefield 3rd's. Eddie Taylor drilled in the opener for Slazenger. Wakefield replied but four-star Tim Carr was on hand to put away Slazenger's second. Carr and Scott Croucher struck after the break to make it 4-1, and Carr completed his hat-trick after Wakefield had pegged on back.
