Slazenger got off to a great start, with their enterprising play too much for Bradford. Slaz were wheezing the ball rounf the back of the Bradford defence continually and creating quick chances up the wing from the off and they went into an early 8th minute lead when Alec Colston netted. Slazenger's penultimate league game provided basement club Driffield with a real drubbing by the Yorkshire League Division champions. The side underlined its superiority with four goals in the first 35 minutes through Gilston, Webb, Butel and Taylor. Driffield were again torn apart after the break. Slazenger fourths played out a fiercely-contested 2-2 draw with Lincoln thirds. Slaz started stronger, taking the lead after a few minutes, courtesy of a well-struck goal from Ian Gordon, but Lincoln fought back hard and managed to level. Promoted Slazenger clinched the Yorkshire League Division 2 title with a thumping 5-1 triumph over Scarborough.
