Slazenger thirds were given a hockey lesson by Leeds University third who won comfortable 8-1. Slazenger were 3-0 down at half time, but rallied after the break for Gavin Kaye and Anwar Al-Khaili to supply Andy Birkett with a ferociously hit goal. Slazenger thirds had a great first half against quality opposition in Leeds University thirds. But the Student's superior fitness paid off in the end as Leeds ran out 6-2 victors. Martin Lofthouse fired home the opening goal, but Leeds scored a dubious equaliser before half-time.
