After a succesful 'Back to Hockey' campaign over the summer Slazenger's 4th ladies team travelled to Huddersfield with 5 of their new players. It was a great team effort the first half and Slazenger were unlucky to conceed a goal. In the second half both Claudia Barber and Megan Bird played some excellent hockey but fatigue set in and the young Dragons team were able to score twice more. Emma Elsey played an amazing first game in a Slazenger shirt and got the well deserved Player of the … [Read more...] about Report: 27-09-2014 – Ladies 4th’s (0) vs. (3) Huddersfield Dragons 3rd’s

Report: 20-09-2014 – Ladies 1st’s (1) vs. (3) Huddersfield Dragons 1st’s
Opened up game play extremely strong providing Huddersfield Dragons a difficult challenge. Shots on goal were unfortunately saved - with some hitting the post causing frustration. Pressing forward Dragons were able to score twice before Slazengers eventually connected with the back board after a fantastic strike at a difficult angle from Helen Hough. Dragons went on to score a 3rd, however, Slazengers held their own towards the end of the game. Slazengers were still in danger of relegation going into the Division Five contest and were not helped by having top scorer Claire Dunstan pinched by the already-promoted second team at the last moment. Perhaps their planning was affected as they leaked three goals to their high-flying visitors, who had won the reverse fixture 8-0, … [Read more...] about Report: 15-03-2014 – Ladies 3rd’s (2) vs. (3) Epworth 1st’s
Report: 08-03-2014 – Ladies 1st’s (4) vs. (1) Leeds 1st’s
Slazenger turned out to play Leeds Ladies for their final home game this season with a new Captain, a new formation and a couple of players who really made a difference to the squad. Whether these ingredients would change their losing streak was another question. The home team started strongly, following a very encouraging team talk by Kelly Whittam prior to the game. Despite the top of the league team taking a very early lead, Slaz kept on fighting and driving forward as a unit - it was … [Read more...] about Report: 08-03-2014 – Ladies 1st’s (4) vs. (1) Leeds 1st’s
