After a slightly late start on a cold day Slazengers were straight on the attack with a short corner awarded within the first minute. The game started strongly for both sides with both teams having chances but Slazengers defence was strong. After many attacks before half time finally the first goal was scored by Slazengers. With New Year only just passed it was back to Hockey already. Refreshed from the break Slazengers ladies started with determination managing to score first from a short corner. Horsforth then equalised and so it continued with each side scoring but Slazengers never in a losing position. With a better start to the game Slazengers got a reasonably quick goal. But before half time both teams had scored leaving it 2-1 at held time.
